• Started his career in 1989 as a stunt double for child actors on the Australian soap Neighbours, which led to him being cast in the role of Toby Mangel.
• Attended Monash University to study commerce but after performing in the Australian play Hotel Sorrento, his love of acting was rekindled and he transferred to the National Institute of Dramatic Art.  
• Started a theater production company in 2005 with his college friends and they put on co-operative show on at the Darlinghurst Theatre called Bones.
• Was originally cast in the series Reign as recurring character Prince Don Carlos, but soon after, he was promoted to a series regular and given the role of British Ambassador Gideon Blackburn.
